What is breadbreed
What’s in a name. A bread breeder breeds purely for profit. In fact, they often do not even breed themselves. Instead puppies are bought in large quantities to reduce the price and are stored in warehouses where they can house multiple litters. They offer many different pups from many breeding parents. Pups are sold cheaper then at a reliable breeder which temps people into buying bread breeder pups.
Breading parents are purely used as puppy machines. The bread breeders want as many pups as possible and do not care about the mothers health. Sometimes the puppies are even sold with forged passports. This means that the breeder does not have to maintain the mother dogs nor will the breeder have to wait to start breeding again. Without being taking care or tested they have to produce. That’s why customars never see the real breeding parents of their pup.
The conditions and care of the puppies are often poor as well. At 4 weeks they are seperated from their mother and are kept alive with sugerwater. They aren’t looked after by vets or undergo sufficiënt testing. In some cases the breeders will deliver a pup at your door as soon as possible,so you don’t get a change to see the shameful living conditions of the dogs. The breeder won’t inform you about the social behaviour of your pup, nor will theygive information about their heritage.
Bread breeing has to be stopped, and the only way to make this happen is to stop buying bread breeder pups. Which is not easy since many people are temped to rescue these dogs an give them a loving home. Unfortunatly these good intentions will motivate bread breeders to offers new pups to other people. In the end, if nobody buys their pups, the are forced to put an end to their shameful business.
If you suspect that you are dealing with a bread breeder, report this to the locale police immediatly.
How to spot bread breeders
Physically and mentally unhealthy dogs
Dogs from the bread breeding circuit meanly come from unhealthy dogs and are themselves unhealthy dogs. For example: breeding non-stop with dogs that have hip dysplasia, because the breeder refuses to have his parent dogs tested. Tests are expensive and don’t pay off. The dogs are often the result of incestuous matings (eg. father and daughter), with all the physical consequences.
Puppies from the bread breeding circuit often grow into dogs with problematic behavior. Dogs are social creatures that need proper socialization during the first weeks of life. From an early age they should be exposed to noises such as a vacuüm cleaner or a mixer. They should get used to car rides as well and should be able to meet strange people, children and other animals. Growing up in a home environment is therefore a must for pups, instead of staying in glass containers or closed pens.
Many breeding dogs have to deal with all kinds of fears, which may cause aggresive behavior. The many reports of biting incidents are often the result of bread breeding.
