4 tips to recognize bread breeders

1 Ask for parenting-dna

Make sure you can visit both parents and receive a parenting-dna test when purchasing a puppy. This proves that the litter of puppies actually are pups from the suggested parents.

2 Consult the list of bread breeders

Check whether your chosen breeder is on the list of bread breeders (which can be found online). Nearby vets can inform you about their experiences with a particular breeder.

3 Check rest period

Check whether your breeder gives the breeding bitch sufficient rest between 2 litters. This should be 1 year at least. Also check the number of litters of the same bitch. 3 to 4 litters is a healthy average.

4 Follow puppy evolution

Make sure you can visit the litter several times to follow the evolution of your puppy. On site you should be given acces to view all areas. Breeders should answer all your questions and give support once the puppy has moved to your family.
